Have you tried running it through photo editing software (photoshop or the like)? Bumping up the contrast and adding a bit more saturation would really make the color pop and let the subjects stand out a bit more... PS CS3- contrast +60, brightness +10, and a tiny saturation bump +5 or so... yummy, love the comp
